We’re looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join us covering the London & South East and East of England Region.
The role involves a combination of travel, working from home, our regional hub. The exact scope of the area you look after will be based upon where you live and the location of our current ORBP (Fire) colleagues.
Internally this role is known as: Operational Risk Assessor – Fire.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement. There is an expectation for regular travel within your region, alongside working remotely and from our Regional Hubs. Occasional travel will be required to other locations outside of your region and to Head Office in Heelis for team meetings. Your contractual location will be discussed at interview but will be a Regional Hub based in the region(s) you cover.
What you'll be doing
You’ll undertake a variety of fire risk assessments on National Trust complex historic houses and larger National Trust holiday accommodation plus other building types where required.
You’ll be taking existing fire risk assessments and reviewing them against established National Trust policy to produce a revised assessment which identifies specific mitigations.
Professional Indemnity Insurance is provided for employees undertaking this role in connection with National Trust business during the course of their employment.
You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role. We’d love to hear from you if you have:
• Relevant qualification in fire safety & fire risk assessment e.g. Fire Protection Association, NEBOSH, Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers
• Fire risk management and fire risk assessment expertise
• Recognised listing on a national recognised register for fire risk assessors or have suitable comparable practical experience of fire risk assessing
• Working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, building regulations and technical standards
• Knowledge of working within the Heritage environment
• Knowledge of working within a sleeping risk environment
